Aquarian Spirituality : preparing spiritually for the coming Age of Aquarius
Aquarian-ism is not a religion . . . it's a spirituality. What is spirituality ? That which inspires us to be our best. Spirituality is, and has always been, about creating a better life : a more whole-istic ( holy ) and meaningful life. If more people take up a spiritual-based life-path, communities benefit too. Good people create a better world.
What's the difference between religion and spirituality ? On one level it's . . . simplicity. There should be no complex and dogmatic rules to follow in a spirituality ; no churches or temples that you must visit ; no mandatory " holy " days to observe, or foods to abstain from ; no mystical rituals to perform ; no priests or gurus to obey. There should be no hidden teachings that are only revealed to you for a price. There should be no superstitions to fear, or spells to cast.
What should there be ? At the heart of every life-affirming spirituality is . . . love, freedom and beauty.
All spiritualities begin with a simple life affirming message. Eve taught Adam about the simple beauty of the world. Christ simply suggested we should "love one another". In time, the new Christians ( more accurately called ' Paulines ' ), who followed the Messiah's teachings, but were heavily influenced by St Paul, and obsessed with showing how Christ fulfilled Old Testament prophecies, created a vast and complex body of literature ( the New Testament ), which greatly expanded upon the simple words and deeds of the long dead Galilean. Centuries later, the Roman church would layer various myths and superstitions, to create their mystical Je-sus : the soon-to-return super-human saviour of the world.
The recent international academic project - The Jesus Seminar - suggested that less than 20% of the words and deeds of Christ ( as recorded in the Gospels ) can be regarded as factual, whilst only 5 out of the 33 parables can really be attributed to the Nazarene himself. The rest was ' created ' by the gospel authors who were inspired by Paul's stories of a ' Super-Jesus '.
Melchizedek taught Abraham that true spirituality is about freedom ; freedom from superstitions and occult practices, such as ritual sacrifices. However, the religion that developed from Melchizedek's teachings - Israel-ism / Judah-ism - became corrupted and complex. The Hebrews failed to banish superstitions ( e.g. bull worship practices during the time of Moses ). Occult-loving King Solomon, driven by his desire for power, centralised the worship of Yahweh around his temple complex and reintroduced ritual sacrifices. Temple priests, also thirsting for power, exploited superstitions, and introduced 613 mitzvot ( religious laws ) to keep the faithful in line. Melchizedek's spirituality become Israel's religiosity.
Almost every spirituality experiences a shift from simplicity to complexity as it develops into a fully fledged religion.
Why is spirituality simple ( and religion complex ) ? Spirituality comes from ' within '. Religion and it's rules, temples, rituals, fasting, holy days etc are all man-made attempts to help us to uncover what is already within us.
Spirituality involves the purest ( most wholesome / holy ) things, such as love, freedom and beauty.
Aquarians suggest, that for righteous ( wholesome / wholistic ) living, you need three things : love, freedom and beauty. These three ' pillars ' inform our modern Aquarian Spirituality. They are ' the foundations for good living ' ; that which enables us to be happy in life.
What is spirituality ?
What is spirituality ? Our answer : That which inspires us to be our best.
That's a very modern definition of spirituality. But it's one that we can embrace once we've shed the religiosity and superstitions which have often smothered and usurped true spirituality.
Inspire, inspiration and spirituality all share the same root word, which derives from our most fundamental act : breathing in life giving oxygen.
Spirituality is a Latin word, which literally means : to breath.
Another way of saying " breath in " is : inspire.
Spirituality is the act of bringing within us, that which nourishes our mind and body. This nourishment enables us to be our very best.
When we bring into ourselves ( through our incoming thoughts and deeds ) beneficial nourishment, we can be our best selves, and know happiness.
Meditation is an example of " beneficial nourishment ". It's no surprise, that meditation is THEE foundational spiritual act. At the core of true meditation, is a focus on symbolically " breathing in right thoughts " as we simultaneously honour our breath ( the most life sustaining and sacred thing we do all day ). Almost every spiritual tradition involves . . . meditation.
Once nourished through meditation, our minds can be directed to our daily goal : which is to help those around us to be all they can be.
Every day WE can help others to become their best selves.
In doing so, we take the focus, and importantly, the pressure off ourselves. Our focus instead, is on others.
When we help bring healing to others, WE TOO BECOME HEALED.
Much of today’s metal health epidemic is caused by the pressure we put on ourselves by constantly focusing on ourselves. WE are causing our own crisis. This self-pressure is exacerbated by today’s technology - especially social media - where the emphasis is on us - uploading to the world our momentary best image ( the illusion ) whilst inwardly, the constant spotlight on ourselves, is making us increasingly . . . uneasy.
Our feelings of insecurity and anxiety are fed by our constant focus on our selves. We want to be great - but greatness eludes most of us when we desire it. Instead, turn your attention towards those around you. Help them to feel great - to feel loved - and YOU TOO WILL FEEL GREAT. Your insecurity and anxiety will melt away.
If every person on earth committed to helping those around them each day ( and acted upon that commitment ), the world will be transformed. No matter what you do, or who you are, if you begin the day with a commitment to helping those around you to be their best, you will feel better than any drug can make you feel.
At the start of each day, ask not : “ how can I be great today ? ”, but instead, ask : “ who can I help today ? ”. Happiness will come to you as you help others around you. Guaranteed !
Beneficial nourishment is what spirituality aims to deliver. Over thousands of years, wisdom traditions have all shared their unique ways of ' doing ' spirituality. Chants in Hinduism, recitation in Islam, prayers in Christianity, silence in Zen Buddhism ; these are ALL spiritual acts.
Modern spirituality is about inspiring us to be our best. Aquarian Spirituality offers spiritual wisdom and practices that provide beneficial nourishment and enable us to become our best selves, but without the religiosity and superstitions which impede our practices.
Religion and religiosity should be differentiated. Religion is simply the organisation and management of a spiritual method. Religiosity however, is an escalation of hardened hearts within a religion, which leads to fundamentalism, discrimination, hurt and fear. Superstitions are a device for manipulating followers under the guise of offering some supernatural advantage. Superstition is a deception and has nothing to do with true spirituality. Superstitions range from astrology and spells, right through to the mass mind-control rituals of the Occult.
Spirituality is NOT superstition and superstitions are not spirituality.
Aquarian Spirituality is a necessary response to increasing religiosity and superstitions, which have usurped our ' indigenous ' spiritual traditions. Aquarian Spiritual is a restorative movement ; a spring clean that is needed to again, enable us to gain pure nourishment and be our best.
What is spirit ?
The human spirit is also commonly called : the soul, psyche, consciousness, essence, or simply, that which animates us.
Many have believed our spirit is supernatural and outlives our physical bodies. This has certainly been the teaching of the Occults. The Elite believe that their spirits are destined for eternal life in an all-exclusive realm called heaven. Many, as a result of a core belief in a supernatural human spirit, also believe in ghosts, demons, astrology and numerology.
Today, science is helping us to better understand what is the human spirit. The good news is, that we all have a spirit and it's nothing to do with the supernatural. Science today, can even explain its existence.
Electromagnetic signals, which in our bodies, are created between nerve synapses and neurons, form electrical and magnetic fields. These electro-magnetic fields are responsible for consciousness. Electro-magnetic fields, produced by our brain's neurons, may be the ultimate explanation of what mystics have for thousands of years, called . . . our spirit. Electro-magnetic fields enable matter to become animated, enabling the mind to become self aware, and think for itself.
www.labroots.com/trending/neuroscience/18980/theory-consciousness-arises-electromagnetic-energy
Aquarian Spirituality has long been an advocate of the Electric Universe model, which describes electro-magnatism as a key ' creative force ' in our universe ( as opposed to earlier gravity-centric Universe models, which focused on gravity as the fundamental driver of the universe ). Now, that same energy ( electro-magnetism ) may well explain, not just the function of the entire universe, but the existence of our spirit ; our conscious self. Electricity and magnetism together, may well be the source of our human spirit. Just as planetary bodies generate electrical and magnetic fields, so do we ( as proven today by brain-scanning devices, such as EEG devices ). Our brain's self-generated, information-rich electromagnetic field, may well be the very seat of consciousness and the source of our free will and being. This intricate design and function of our brain, leads many to consider whether evolution could produce such complexity, or was a greater intelligence responsible ?
" mainstream psychology has come full circle, once again accepting consciousness – in the form of cognitive processes – as a legitimate topic for scientific research and justifying the definition of psychology as a science of ( human ) behaviour " *

Is there a God in Aquarian Spirituality ?
The existence of a creator god is ultimately a sacred mystery. It may surprise some, that the existence of a divine creator is not the central concern of Aquarian Spirituality. Modern Spirituality is about people building loving relationships with other people, honouring the freedom of all beings, and creating a beautiful world. Spirituality is about the quality of our relationships : the sacred spirit between us. If there is a god, living a love-filled life, protecting liberties and creating beautiful places, would honour that god more truthfully than any form of ceremonial worship !
Most Aquarians take an agnostic position on the existence of a god. We neither deny nor affirm the existence of a supernatural deity. There is simply no evidence . . . either way at present. And neither is there any direct communication from any supernatural being(s). There are no instructions from any god that we must worship a supernatural being ( at least not from ' above ' - there's plenty of instructions from men - but none directly from " heaven " ). No deity has ever come down from the sky and demanded to be worshiped.
There are also many, many problematic questions which theologians (ie those who promote a Judeo-Christian God) have failed to satisfactorily address ; such as the existence of suffering ( e.g. innocent children suffering terminal cancer ) and evil ( i.e. whether by deliberate behaviour or by a disordered mind ) in the presence of a supposedly all-loving, all-knowing and all-powerful God, who could create a real paradise on Earth - free from childhood cancers - but instead, chooses not to.
We also reject the doctrine of Original Sin. It is a tragically flawed teaching. Childhood cancers should never be explained as a punishment by a jealous God who took his revenge upon Adam and all subsequent generations. What kind of a monster is that ? Certainly one not worthy of our worship. Fear cannot be the foundation of any spirituality or religious system. And yet, that's exactly what's been dished up to the masses over the last 6,000 years by religious tyrants who exploit fear as a powerful instrument for controlling the common folk.
Recently in 2022, the Bishop of Rome was asked why children suffer. His response was honest. He couldn't say. He added, the only response, is to suffer with them. www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/250312/pope-francis-makes-first-tv-talk-show-appearance
In Aquarian Spirituality, all speculative ideas about God ( or any deity ) are called the Sacred Mysteries. They don't require belief, just ongoing thoughtful contemplation. Perhaps over the next two thousand years, new knowledge will emerge that will again challenge us to reconsider our position on these ' sacred mysteries '. In the meantime, our spirituality is not dependent on any supernatural being. WE take responsibility for our life-path. The Age of Aquarius is a time of realisation, that WE are ultimately responsible for spreading love, freedom and beauty in this world, in order to save this world.
Some practitioners of Aquarian Spirituality refer to a " creator god " as a modern day symbol of love, freedom and beauty :
that " God " is an expression of hope : that a benevolent creator of the universe is loving ( i.e. God created us as an act of divine love ), and blesses us with freedom ( i.e. our freedom is an act of divine love ) and that the beauty of the world is given to us all to enjoy ( i.e. God understands that life should be filled with pleasures* so that life is worth living - after all, that's the message of the Garden of Eden ; a Garden of Pleasures, where life is enjoyed - symbolised by the many pleasing fruits ).
However, understanding God as a SYMBOL of love, freedom and beauty, is not completely satisfactory ;
Divine freedom, applied consistently and equally across all creation, is somewhat problematic. If God is consistent ( i.e God can be known because God is predictable ), then all aspects of creation would have to be equally free from divine intervention once created, including our biological nature, which too, ' must freely take its course '. Thus, random gene mutations which cause cancers, will occur without a divine response to ' correct ' these errors ( called miracles in religious speak ). If this is true, God's freedom blessing transcends God's care for children with cancer : a morally difficult reality.
* Modern neuroscience confirms that humans are chemically hardwired to seek pleasure.
We observe that biological ' life forms ' are best suited to the constant environmental changes that occur on Earth. Biological species ( being genetically ' flexible ' ) can adapt and survive ( e.g. our skin colour can change according to where we live on the planet ).
Homo Sapiens are the perfect example of biological adaptability ( which we can also call " biological freedom " - an aspect of God’s supposed freedom blessing ).
If we were eternal ( physical ) beings living on this Earth, we would ultimately fail, as we would have an inadequate mechanism for adapting to the constant environmental changes around us. If we were like a solid rod, we could not bend to accommodate change, and ultimately, we would ' snap '. But as each generation lives only for a short time, and our genes can pass on adaptive mutations that benefit the next generation’s survival, Homo Sapiens can effectively bend with the forces of change. So unlike the solid pole analogy, humanity is more like a flexible chain of links ; each new generation ( each new link on the chain ) able to adapt to the . . . winds of change.
Over the course of millions of years, we have survived BECAUSE our genes can adapt. But genetic flexibility, which ultimately can save a species, also enables mutations to occur which can cause defects, such as cancer. This appears to be the ( high ) price we pay for our gene's highly adaptive capabilities.
As biological beings, we cannot live for eternity on this earth, and from the moment we are conceived, as a biological species, we face the uncertain threat of death. We may well ask, if the Creator is eternal, why are we not eternal ? Surely a just God would enable us to live forever !
Is there an eternal soul for the afterlife ( i.e. a non-biological and trans-dimensional aspect of our being that is eternal ) ? Again, this is for Aquarian Spirituality, a Sacred Mystery - worthy of our contemplation, and the hope that some day, we may gain further insights.
Perhaps in the end, the successful transmission of our genes is our unique form of " eternal life " !
In another way, we are already eternal beings.
At a micro level, humans are made up of cells, which are a complex soup of molecules, which in turn, are made up of atoms* ( we each have around seven octillion atoms ! ). Whilst our cells replenish ( about a rate of 330,000,000,000 every day ), atoms however, don't regenerate. In fact, stable atoms last forever ( although they may be subject to decay over billions of years ). Your atoms will survive you for a very long time ! Therefore, in many ways, you ARE already immortal. On a chemical level, 99%+ of our body consists of Hydrogen, Oxygen, carbon and nitrogen. These four elements have all existed since the creation of stars. Thus, as well as being immortal, we are also part of the living history of the universe.
We also contain within our bodies, a tiny amount of the element helium. Helium is the second most abundant element in the universe ( after hydrogen ). The gas is produced when uranium and other radioactive elements break down. Upon our deaths, helium is released as our bodies decompose. Earth's gravity is not sufficient to prevent Helium's gradual escape into space. Therefore, the helium in YOUR body will in time, leave Earth and journey into deep space ( or as we used to say . . . the heavens ! ). In other words, a small part of you, will go forth into . . . eternity.
* An atom is a piece of matter. ( Matter is anything that can be touched physically ). Atoms consist of a nucleus, which is made of protons and neutrons. A ' cloud ' of electrons circle the nucleus. A proton is a sub atomic particle that is positively charged. A neutron is a sub atomic particle with a negative charge. As an example, a hydrogen atom contains one proton, one electron, and no neutrons. Helium, known as a Nobel Gas, has two protons, two electrons and two neutrons.
In the Christian Gospels, the author John ( 1 John 4 : 8 ) refers to God as a loving being when he writes "God is love". John is the most ' spiritual ' of the Gospel writers. We believe John understood God through the experience and teachings of Christ, whose principal message was centered on . . . love.
Many Ju'es feared their God, who they saw, as a harsh judge, or ' tribal enforcer ' of the laws of heaven. John's statement on God's essence is in fact, a declaration of freedom ; helping his fellow Ju'es to overcome their fear-based understanding of who God is ( which developed during the Age of Aries, thanks largely to the corruption of Melchizedek's teachings on freedom by tyrants and occult worshipers, such as King Solomon, who used religion to control their subjects ).
John was reminding his fellow Ju'es that, at the heart of effective living is . . . love ( love guides us to create a Garden of Eden - not rules or fear ie not religiosity or superstitions ). Thus, if God is at the heart of all life ( as the creator of all life ), John reasoned, God must be love ( & loving ).
We acknowledge the theistic positions once held by the arch angels Melchizedek ( who taught Abraham about a freedom loving God ) and the Nazarene Messiah ( who taught his disciples about a loving ' fatherly ' God ). However, in the coming Age, a new understanding of what's holy is emerging. A new spirituality is rising up ; free of superstitions and religiosity. In the coming Great Age of Aquarius, responsibility for our actions, and our future, are not delegated to the heavens, but are placed upon each of us here on this Earth. Humanity's great spiritual journey is akin to a person's journey towards adult-hood ; as we mature, we must accept more and more responsibility for our behaviours. In the 21st century, we can no longer outsource salvation to the gods.
Symbolically, the three Great Ages of Spirituality : the Age of the Father ( Age of Aries ), the Age of the Son ( Age of Pisces ) and the Age of the Holy Spirit ( Age of Aquarius ) can be seen as a gradual change in, or maturing of, our awareness of what's holy. In the Arian Age, holiness was seen in heaven, in the form of an awe-inspiring divine ( holy ) being, who blessed us with freedom. In the Age of the Son, divinity ( holiness ) came down from heaven, and became a Christ-man, who blessed us with the message of . . . love. That man was crucified by those who rejected love. But the message of love survived the crucifixion and continues to this day, to transform lives wherever and whenever love is shared.
In the third Age ( the Aquarian Age ), a wholistic spirituality is emerging ; free once more from superstitions and religiosity. Today, we learn to appreciate a person's inner beauty in order to relate to them lovingly. We honour their freedom as an act of love.
ALL LIFE IS HOLY. We are all part of a greater ' whole '. Hence the spirituality of the Third Age, is a wholistic spirituality ; all embracing and all inclusive. That's the Holy ( Sacred ) Spirit of our Age. That's what's holy now.
What is the meaning of life ?
Like trying to prove God, the meaning of life can be an endless search. Aquarian Spirituality does not deny the existence of God. We are agnostic. Therefore, we cannot say with certainty, that life was created by a deity who desired to fill the universe with love, freedom and beauty. Such sentiments are nice and uplifting, but of course, cannot be proven.
On the other hand , a meaningless existence, as proposed by many atheist philosophers, is hardly inspiring.
Aquarian Spirituality proposes that the meaning of life is best seen as a sacred mystery : worthy of contemplation, but with no demands upon us to ' solve the puzzle '. It's OK to accept mystery !
Instead, we can focus on our PURPOSE in life, which is to fill our world with love, freedom and beauty, so that life becomes more . . . pleasurable *.
In turn, a life with pleasures, reinforces the feeling that . . . life is worth living.
A pleasurable life is of course, not the same as a perfect life. Even a life filled with love, freedom and beauty, will know suffering. But life's darkness can be counter balanced with moments of light. Even simple pleasures ( a walk in the park or a coffee with a friend ) can bring us some joy that sustains us through challenging times.
A pleasurable life is not about living a hedonistic lifestyle - where the only goal is pleasure ( that kind of lifestyle often leads to addictions and regrets ). For Aquarian Spirituality, the goal is to fill the world with love, freedom and beauty.
* Modern neuroscience is confirming that we humans are chemically hardwired to seek pleasure and thus, religions that are challenged by our natural instinct for pleasure, often adopt a negative pain-centered faith system ( i.e. by focusing on guilt, long lists of sins, and prohibitions that make life anything but pleasurable ! Blood and gore - including crucifixions and animal slaughter - often become fixations too ).
Some persons, with compromised neurone function, may fail to feel pleasure. These persons may need some form of medical therapy ( either natural or chemical ) to stimulate pleasure receptors in the brain.
Aquarian Spirituality is a new spirituality for a new Age. We're not practicing history. We're creating a modern spirituality for today's world ! The old religiosities and superstitions are passing away. Their ways are no longer meaningful. However, the spiritual wisdom of the Ages, which has stood the test of time, needs to be shared in new ways.
Thus, today, a new spirituality is emerging ; a modern and simple life- path, centered on love, freedom and beauty ; the age-old foundations of every great spiritual movement.
Many modern Christian movements today agree, that we cannot say anything about God with any degree of certainty. Theology remains a speculative venture. In many ways, the modern Christian movement is closer to the spirituality of the first Nazarene apostles, who were prepared to put aside centuries of traditions and beliefs, and build a new spirituality ( based on the teachings of their Messiah ) that was free of superstitions and religiosity. That brief window was quickly closed with the coming of Paul of Tarsus, who reintroduced myths into his interpretation of the Christ story, and again, true spirituality was usurped by superstition.
Today, the work of one of the 20th century's great theologians - Paul Tillich ( born in modern day Poland ) - is testament to modern Christianity's attempts to move beyond the Dark Ages, and unhinge God from the the confines of traditional theism by declaring that ; God is not just another being, but the very ground of being. John Shelby - Episcopalian Bishop of Newark New York - has challenged his Anglican community to move with the times and embrace a more Tillich-like approach to theism.
Modern Christianity represents a late Piscine Age spiritual maturity that is also ironically, a return to the very roots of Christianity ; pre New Testament, pre Paul, and certainly, pre the Roman Church's Dark Age era.
Aquarian Spirituality's principal teaching is, that we should appreciate each person's inner beauty. A person's inner beauty is their purity, love and innate goodness. When we strive to see another person's inner beauty, we are striving to understand them first as . . . a beautiful person.
Artists might symbolically depict our ' vision ' of another person's inner beauty, by depicting that person's inner light or inner glow.
WHEN we ' see ' another person’s inner beauty, we begin to act lovingly towards them.
Symbolically, when two persons come together in this way, they create a special connection or ' sacred spark ' which we call : a ‘ Holy Spirit ‘ or ‘ Sacred Spirit ‘.
The Sacred Spirit is like an invisible spark that is ( symbolically ) ignited when we appreciate another person's inner beauty. From this simple spark love is born.
In the new Age of Aquarius, the Sacred Spirit is not seen as some divine or supernatural being. The Sacred Spirit is the spirit of love, freedom and beauty. It exists whenever people interact lovingly, and honour each other’s freedoms. Of course, this all begins, by coming to appreciate each other’s inner beauty ( their inner God Spirit or Good Spirit ).
Honouring another person’s freedom is the truest test of your love. If your love towards another person is real, you will “ set them free ” : i.e. you will encourage them to be all they can be, and not try to manipulate, control or ‘ own ’ them to fulfill your selfish desires.
In ancient times, the Sacred Spirit ' was called the ' divine light ' or the ' Holy Spirit '. It was considered a supernatural force, or " the power of god " ( and often personified as a mysterious or mystical divine presence ). Today, we suggest the Sacred Spirit is ' created symbolically ’ whenever and wherever people honour each other’s sacredness.
When we lovingly honour another person, we rise above our primitive ego - our overly self-centred instincts.
Love overcomes our primal instinct to act selfishly. Self-centredness comes from a deep fear of losing something precious ( or not having enough ). Yet loving others . . . brings us more than fearing others.
Fear is a function of our egos. Our egos are our protective shields. But untrained, our uncontrolled egos ( our selfish mind ) can dominate our thoughts. We fear loss. We distrust others. We allow jealousy and hatreds to fester. Hatred leads to violence. From self-centredness comes self destruction. But love can break this vicious cycle. Love challenges fear. Love overcomes fear. Love is salvational. When we choose love, we also stand against occult beliefs - which celebrate the ego as thee central thing.
The first century world was filled with superstition and religiosity, and so Christ's message was not yet understood by many, except his closest disciples. But now, as the Age of Pisces closes, many more people are accepting a world without superstition and religiosity. The Age of Reason ( the last 300 years or so ) was a necessary reactionary period in our spiritual development. But reason alone ( rationality ) cannot inspire us to be loving. We need a spirituality to instill within us, a deeper ' attitude ' - one that inspires us to always be loving, honour freedom and create beauty.

The Nazarene Messiah ( Christ ) already pointed to a new spirituality 2000 years ago, when he said " the Kingdom ( the realm ) is not in Heaven, but heaven is created when we love one another ". We create heaven - here on earth. The first century world was filled with superstition and religiosity, and so Christ's message was not yet understood by many, except his closest disciples. The Age of Reason ( the last 300 years or so ) was a necessary reactionary period in our spiritual development. But reason alone ( rationality ) cannot inspire us to be loving. We need a spirituality to inspire within us, a deep heartfelt attitude - one that leads us to be loving, promote freedom and seek beauty.

Important note :
Not everyone can nourish their wellbeing through spiritual practices. Some people are afflicted with mental health challenges, which cannot be managed by their own efforts, or by learning a spiritual method. If that’s you, continue to reach out to your professional health carer in the first instance. Our spiritual practices, whilst generally beneficial for many people, may not be enough to support you through your difficult times. No religion, spiritual life-path or occult group should claim to cure mental illnesses without first subjecting their claims to vigorous independent professional scrutiny.

Where did life begin ?
According to recent studies, including significant research published by chemists from Purdue University ( USA ) in 2022, the fundamental ingredients for living cells arose in our oceans. The first microorganisms formed about 3.7 billion year ago. From there, the journey from basic building blocks, to the formation of intelligent life forms, took billions of years.
The so called ' primordial soup ' appears to be more a primordial ocean ! Purdue scientists describe their finding as :
“a unique reactivity of free amino acids at the air-water interface of micron-sized water droplets that leads to the formation of peptide isomers on the millisecond timescale.”
Essentially, sea spray ( air bubbles that form when waves crash ) create a chemical reaction that creates peptides from free amino acids. These amino acids spontaneously form peptides which are the building blocks of life. Sea spray plays an important role as it acts to eject individual amino acids from water ( thus shedding the water molecule, and enables the newly freed amino acids to bond with other amino acids. These reactions would have enabled the eventual evolution of primordial life, following a pathway from amino acid to peptide to protein to DNA and to the creation of living organisms.
Amino acids are organic compounds composed mainly of nitrogen, carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. They are the building blocks of proteins. Proteins are simply chains of amino acids linked together ( called polypeptides ). Different combinations of linked amino acids create different proteins. Proteins are the building block molecules of life. Proteins are created when DNA is transcribed into RNA, and then the RNA is translated into a protein. An example of a protein is Hemoglobin - an essential protein in your red blood cells that carries oxygen around our body.
Peptides consist of short ' chains ' of amino acids. Peptides are the fundamental components of all microbial, plant and animal cells. For example, proteins are large and complex peptide structures.
But where did the amino acids come from ? God ? It turns out, raw amino acids are constantly deposited on Earth by meteorite strikes. These were more common when our Solar System was younger. So whilst we often associate meteorites with the destruction of life, they also play a vital role in the creation of life !
Other planets and moons that have volatile oceans, and were impacted by meteorite strikes, such as Ganymede ( a moon of Jupiter ) could also have produced the necessary preconditions for life to emerge.

What are the 3 ' pillars ' of Aquarian Spirituality ?
If you'd like to understand why there are 3 ' pillars ' in Aquarian Spirituality, visit our Spiritual Great Ages webpage on this website before proceeding here.
Aquarian Spirituality is not a new spirituality, but rather it builds upon spiritual wisdom that has stood the test of time.
Six thousand years ago, Mother Eve shared with Adam, ' fruit ' ( wisdom ) from the Tree of Knowledge. She taught Adam about the beauty of life, and led their tribe away from the evil Serpent Cult of Eden, to again, experience true freedom, love and beauty, in their new homeland in the Fertile Crescent.
Four thousand years ago, a descendant of the Adam-Eve tribe ; Abraham of Ur, fled the evil Taurus-Age Bull Cult in order to save his son, and all first-borns in his tribe, from being sacrificed to the bull god, Moloch. Melchizedek, the wise Priest King of Salem, offered hospitality to Abraham, and taught him that a life-creating God does not demand living sacrifices, and that true spirituality does not involve primitive superstitions. Whilst Abraham and his family followed the teachings of Melchizedek, corruption set in generations later, when King Solomon took control of the Israelite's spirituality and built a temple to centralise power over his nation. Superstitions corrupted Melchizedek's vision for a freedom oriented life-path. Over time, Solomon's Levite priests, created a deeply legalistic and rigid religion, where religiosity usurped the true spiritual path.
Two thousand years ago, the Nazarene Messiah ( Yeshua ) declared that the time was right for reform. Yeshua taught that religiosity suppresses love. The religion of the day ( Pharisee-led Judaism ) had become narrow and legalistic. Yeshua taught that true heaven ' happens ' when people act with love here on Earth. Yeshua's new spiritual path liberated followers from religiosity and superstition. The Age of the Fisher Kins ( Pisces Age people ) had began.
The spiritual path of the Nazarene was quickly corrupted by a late-comer Apostle ; Paul of Tarsus. Paul created a mythical super-Jesus ( to gain gentile converts ), and idolised the after-life rather than creating a ' kin-dom ' of love on Earth as Christ had taught. Emperor Constantine drove the final nail by merging Paul's teachings with occult superstitions, to create Roman Catholicism ; the vast religion of the Dark Ages ( a religion that still exists ' in the deep shadows ' today . . . and still dominates Christianity and world events ).
Today, religions are failing to speak to our ( enlightened ) times. Superstitions and religiosity have continued to undermine the potential of almost every religion in the world. And furthermore, the Earth is being destroyed by pollution and population density. There is also the existential threat of all out nuclear war.
A modern spirituality must therefore speak to today's great challenges.
The beauty of the world nourishes our spirituality, and yet our Earth is in danger of being destroyed. Nature - the very ground of our spirituality and the very source of life on Earth - is threatened like never before. Aquarian Spirituality upholds, not just the ideals of love and freedom, but also of beauty. These three pillars form the essence of our modern spirituality ; a spirituality for the new Age.
Love.
Love is the precious essence that lies at the very heart of our wholistic ( holy ) spirituality. Why ? Because love is always . . . salvational. Only when we act lovingly towards each other, can we create a better world for every person : a world where fear need not exist.
Love - be it in the form of compassion, kindness or simply ' friendships ' - truly transforms the quality of our personal relationships and the communities we live in.
Love involves taking a risk. Love may not always be reciprocated. Don't always expect to be loved. The world is not perfect. Other people are not perfect. But don't stop loving them. Forgive those who cannot love you. Keep loving them. In time, they will learn from you.
Aquarians strive to always love one another. We love our creators ( we're grateful for the blessing of life, and so we honour our parents / carers ). We love ourselves ( we're kind to ourselves ). We love the people we meet ( we're compassionate to our neighbours ).
We lovingly care for the poor, the sick, the homeless, the widow, the outcasts, and the lonely.
We love those who are not like us. We love even those who hurt us ; we don’t reciprocate their hatred ; instead, we forgive them, thereby breaking the cycle of toxic hatred.
Strive to see each person's inner beauty, and you will come to love them.
We love food that nourishes us ( we share our food with others ). We love all creatures on the earth ( we're kind to animals ). We love the forests and the streets that we walk through ( we respect the environment and strive to be a caring citizen ). We love the rivers we swim in, the air we breathe, the sun that warms us, and the stars that illuminate the night sky.
We nurture love through daily mediation. The Aquarian Age will not magically bring about world peace and harmony. But if every adult immersed themselves in daily meditation on love, and committed to acting lovingly throughout the day, the world WILL be transformed. In other Great Ages, we hoped for divine intervention. But heaven did not magically appear on Earth ( some still wait for that day ).
Aquarian Spirituality teaches that WE are capable of transforming the world we live in. We are responsible for our actions. No divinity will rescue us. This is the difference that will define the Age of Aquarius ; by our volition, we can save ourselves. How ? Through love.
Freedom.
Aquarians love freedom. We were born free ; free to be all that we can be. Aquarians call this the Freedom Blessing. We are not puppets of some divine tyrant. As we are the recipients of the Freedom Blessing, it is upon us, to also be liberators. We don't enslave anyone. We don't exploit anyone. We don't control anyone. We stand against oppression in all it's forms. We don't kill animals. We honour their right to life as much as we wish to live.
A vital aspect of freedom is . . . forgiveness. When we forgive those who have hurt us, we become liberators - absolving the sinner of their sins. Through forgiveness, we heal the sinner by releasing them from their sin-bondage ( sins need absolution or they remain with us like a cancer, eating away at our ' soul ' / conscience ).
When we forgive others, we too experience healing. Both parties win.
We do not seek revenge ( i.e. " an eye for an eye " ). We do not believe in divine vengeance either ( which inspires many religious people to act with so much hatred ).
If we have hurt someone, we should apologise, affirm that we will not hurt them again, offer restitution ( if appropriate ), and ultimately : be reconciled. We may not always be forgiven. We should not demand to be forgiven. It is for the victim to work through their response in good time.
Beauty.
Aquarians cherish beauty. The beauty of the world is a heavenly blessing ; it nourishes us, it heals us, it brings us joy and enriches our lives.
Appreciate beauty in every person. Each person is uniquely beautiful ( i.e. filled with inner beauty ). See their inner beauty and you will come to love them.
Create beauty in all that you do. If you love beauty, you will not pollute. If you love beauty, you will not destroy nature's gifts.
The beauty of the world inspires us to live a beautiful life. When you wake up . . . open the window and appreciate the beauty of the world, and be grateful for the gift of life. Meditate on how beautiful life is. The beauty of the world inspires us to love. This beautiful world inspires us to treasure our freedoms.
The beauty of the world also inspires us to protect the earth from destruction. Let us be righteous custodians, so that all life can thrive on this planet.
This is the essence of Aquarian Spirituality : Love, Freedom & Beauty. The rest is commentary.
Love, Freedom & Beauty : let this be our Aquarian mantra.

DAILY MEDITATION AND OPTIMAL HEALTH !
Spirituality is a Latin word, which literally means : to breath.
Another way of saying " breath in " is : inspire.
Inspire, inspiration and spirituality all share the same root word, which derives from our most fundamental act : breathing in life giving oxygen.
Spirituality is the act of bringing within us, that which nourishes our mind and body. This nourishment enables us to be our very best.
When we bring into ourselves ( through our incoming thoughts & deeds ) beneficial nourishment, we become our best selves, and know happiness.
Almost every spiritual tradition involves . . . meditation.
Aquarian Spirituality offers spiritual wisdom and practices that provide beneficial nourishment and enable us to become our best selves, but without the religiosity and superstitions which impede our practices.
Meditation is beneficial for helping you to interact with the world.
But meditation is also beneficial for CREATING good health for YOU personally.
Our meditations are focused on nourishing love, freedom and beauty. These are the 3 pillars of our spirituality.
These 3 pillars inspire us to live a life of . . . holiness.
Symbolically, the three Great Ages of Spirituality : the Age of the Father (Age of Aries ), the Age of the Son (Age of Pisces ) and the Age of the Holy Spirit ( Age of Aquarius ) can be seen as a gradual maturing of our awareness of what's holy.
In the Aries Age, holiness was seen to be in heaven, in the form of an inspiring divine being, who blessed us with freedom.
In the Age of the Son, divinity ( holiness ) was seen to come down from heaven, and become the Christ-Man, who blesses us with the message of love.
That man was crucified by those who rejected love. But the message of love transcended even crucifixion and continues to this day, to transform lives wherever and whenever love is shared.
In the Age of the Holy Spirit, we the people are all responsible for creating holiness ( not a god in the sky or one man on earth ).
Holiness has gone from been perceived as something divine and far away in heaven ( in the Age of Aries ), to something that was only present in one being on earth - Christ ( in the Age of Pisces ), to now something that is possible for every person to be, and to create with others ( in the Age of Aquarius ).
In the Aquarian Age, spiritual holiness is experienced when people act with love towards one another and honour each other’s freedoms. This all begins by appreciating each other’s inner beauty.
Wherever two or more people are gathered in the name of love, freedom and beauty, there is holiness. Holiness is like a sacred spirit ( a holy spirit ) that emerges when people act righteously towards each other. It is a force that is invisible but . . . powerfully real.
Whenever the spirit of holiness is created, we can feel inspired to be all that we can be because our ( inner ) beauty is recognised ( who we are is accepted ), we are loved ( we are healed & supported by the love of others around us ) and our freedoms are honoured ( we are empowered to live fully ! ). The spirit of holiness is our salvation !
Our holiness prepares us to receive the coming Arch Angel. Those who live with evil in their hearts, will not hear the voice of salvation. But they can repent and be amongst the blessed who shall be saved.
The spirituality of the New Age is thus a wholistic spirituality ; a spirituality EVERY ONE can be a part of : EVERY PERSON can create holiness around them and become a blessing upon this sacred earth.
That's the holy spirit of the Aquarian Age. That's what's holy . . . now.

That's what's holy . . . now.
Living the Three Pillars of Aquarian Spirituality
Love Freedom Beauty
Love Freedom Beauty
A q u a r i a n M e d i t a t i o n s
1. Start of the day : Meditate on love, freedom & beauty
This meditation can be done outdoors when the sun comes up, or indoors if the
weather is not suitable. If indoors, light a candle in place of the sun's light.
Burn some incense such as Frankincense or another spice if you like the scent.
Breathe gently. Close your eyes.
Imagine the Sun's ( or a candle's ) warm light entering you as you gently inhale.
The warm sensation symbolises love entering your body. You are again filled
with love. You are again, a vessel of love, freedom & beauty. As you meditate
on these three words, commit to being loving, uphold the freedom of all beings
and appreciate another person's inner beauty during your day.
Now focus on your daily goal : to help those around you to be their best.
( This meditation need only take a few minutes )
2. During the Day : Take time to enjoy nature's beauty.
Strive to appreciate every person's inner beauty.
Act with love towards others & uphold their freedoms.
Help those around you to be their best.
3. End of the day : a Reflection & Reconciliation ritual
When the Sun goes down, prepare a bowl of warm water, light a candle &
fill a small glass of wine. This ritual / discipline can be practiced alone or
conducted during a shared evening supper. Begin by asking yourself :
i) Did I allow time to enjoy nature's beauty today ?
( did I allow myself time to be healed and inspired by nature )
Did I strive to appreciate everyone's inner beauty ?
ii ) Did I act with love ( towards others and to myself ) ?
iii) Did I uphold the freedoms of others ?
iv) Did I help those around me to be their best ?
Reconciliation ( healing through forgiveness )
After your reflection, immerse your hands in the cleansing waters, and
ask yourself :
" Do I need to forgive someone or seek forgiveness and reconciliation ? "
As you reflect on forgiveness, consume a little wine & feel its spirit
warming you on the inside. This warmth symbolises spiritual healing
You are forgiven, reconciled, and restored to holiness ( wholeness ).
You are cleansed, healed, blessed, and complete again ( i.e. whole ).

Practicing Aquarian Spirituality
Aquarian Spirituality can be a personal spirituality ( i.e. practiced individually ) AND a communal spirituality ( one that can be practiced with others ).
Personal daily meditation is the cornerstone of our path. More on meditation shortly. If practitioners wish to meet together, we suggest organising a shared supper. Set up a local social network post on the internet, and arrange a local gathering.
The shared meal ( supper ) is important in many cultures. It is an act of love. In the story of Abraham, Melchizedek shares a sacred meal of bread and wine with the patriarch. Christ reminds us, that wherever two or three are gathered, he is with them ' in spirit '. Christ shared many communal meals, inviting people from all walks of life, to eat with him. The Messiah replicated the Melchizedek bread and wine ritual at the Last Supper, when he dined with the 12 apostles ( the Fish Men / Pisces Men ). Eve shared sacred fruit from the Tree of Life with Adam.
The family supper in the evening, is a good example of a shared meal. At the start of a meal, share bread ( as an act of hospitality ) and toast ( an act of gratitude ) each other with wine.
We don't pray to a supernatural Creator for things. No divinity has ever demanded worship. All worship is a human construct. All that we need, is given to us. No begging is necessary. No worship ( submission ) is necessary. We don't instinctively worship our parents. We simply . . . honour them. We praise* them. But we don't worship them ( i.e. idolise them ).
* declare our gratitude to them
We approach meditation with great enthusiasm ! Each day, Aquarians are encouraged to meditate on love, freedom and beauty, in order to cultivate righteous living. Meditation comes from within, just as spirituality comes from within. Meditation connects us with our essence ; where we go to nurture our ' love '. Meditation is a daily disciple that helps us we live well ( to love others, to liberate others, and to create beauty for others ). Meditation is an expression of freedom ; nothing is needed for meditation - only you ; no other person is needed for your meditation ; no rules are needed for meditation ( some Aquarians simply like to repeat the words " love - freedom - beauty ", followed by complete silence - i.e. no thoughts / complete freedom from thinking ). Meditation is also an act of beauty ; meditation creates a moment of beauty in our lives.
Quite often, it's much easier to eat and pray . . . than love ! But actions always speak louder than words. If you wish to live an honourable life ( and be rewarded with the many blessings that this brings ), follow the Aquarian path : be loving, promote freedom, and protect the beauty of the world. Daily meditation will help you to follow the path. If it helps, hand write the three-fold life-guide every morning, and meditate on the words ( love, freedom and beauty ) and keep the words with you as you journey through your day.
We don't need altars, shrines, temples or Cathedrals. Our gatherings are home based, and held in the evening over supper. Aquarian Spirituality has no need for ' religious ' symbols. We don't need to wear distinct clothing, tattoos or jewellery.
Should Aquarians participate in other love-based faiths ? Yes ! If your family or friends celebrate Christmas, it is an act of love to sing carols and give gifts. If your family and friends celebrate Hanukkah, light a candle with them as an act of love ! If your family and friends celebrate Diwali, attend temple with them as an act of love ! All religions of love, come from the same place in the heart. Today's popular religions all began as simple spiritualities. Some from the Pisces era. Others, from more distant times. Over time, these religions will continue to fade as the New Age dawns, and more and more people look for more relevant ways to be spiritual. But in the mean time, don't isolate yourself because you practice a modern spirituality. Enjoy the feasts and festivities, especially if it keeps you connected with family and friends ! You can be Aquarian and collegial. Your tolerant and accepting attitude will impress everyone. It may spark interest in your spirituality !

Sacred Meals and symbols of the New Age
The two fish and five bread loaves story in Matthew's Gospel ( Mat. 14 : 13 ) are symbols used by the Messiah to teach the crowds that a new spiritual age is dawning - the Age of Pisces ; that each new Age demands a new spiritual revival, and a rejection of the ' impure ' old religions, which have become corrupted over the last two thousand years. This story is not about a miraculous feeding of 5,000 hungry delegates who converged on a hilltop. The two fish symbol is indisputably a symbol of the Pisces Zodiac and a clear message about the need to move with the times.
What about the bread symbol ? The Nazarenes were declaring Christ's ( royal ) authority, through his fulfillment of ancient prophecies : he was born at the ritually correct time : ' in ' the House of Bread ( in Hebrew ; ' Bethlehem ' ), meaning ; he was born when the Sun was in Virgo ( in the year 7 BC ) - just as the prophets had foretold ( Micah 5 : 2 ). Virgo is known as the House of Bread, as the Virgo zodiac depicts a maiden holding a sheath of wheat in her hand ( wheat being the key ingredient in bread ). To this day, the symbol for the Virgin maiden zodiac is a stylised ' M '. Christ's mother's name also began with an ' M ' ( i.e. Miryam / Mary ). The name comes from Egypt, and means ' Love ' !
Christ was called the ' Bread of Life ' ( John 6 : 32 ), the Cardinal of the New Age of Pisces, and the Lamb of God ( John 1 : 29 ) who came to ritually ' complete ' the old Age of Aries ( the Age of the Lamb / Ram ) and symbolically open the doors to the New Age of Pisces ( Cardinal means ' hinge ' - that which enables doors to open ).
Christ leads the 12 tribes ( symbolised by the 12 apostles ) into the New Age : spiritually cleansed, and ready to focus on creating a new Piscine Kin-dom on Earth : a relational-realm created when people love one another. Christ taught, that whenever you ritually break bread with others ( Matthew 26 : 24 ), you are not just honouring him, but recalling his instruction to realise the Kin-dom through a shared community meal ( the Agape meal as described in the Didache text ), where everyone was invited to bring what they could, and eat together as equals . . . as one way of bringing about the Messianic Kin-dom on Earth, during the Age of Pisces.
Today, our nightly supper is a form of the early Christian Agape meal. As Aquarians, we share our meals as an act of love, inviting friends, family and visitors to our table to share food, break bread, and toast with wine.

Holy Days
We don't idolise a weekly or monthly sabbath, as every day is holy. But we do advocate a common day of rest for everyone. A common day of rest is a symbol of freedom - the freedom to be with your loved ones. A community's common rest day enables the whole family to gather together, without demands from employers, sports clubs or schools.
Which day is the sabbath ( rest ) day for Aquarians - the day for resting ? That depends on which community you live in. In Israel, the common rest day is the seventh day of the week ( the Sabbath day ). In Christian nations, it's the first day of the week ( the Day of the Son / Sun / Lord ). In Hinduism, the Sun God - Lord Surya - is honoured on Sunday. In Islam, the fifth day of the week ( Friday ) is like a sabbath. Join with the majority practice in your community, so that you too, can rest with everyone ( & make no demands on anyone - e.g. to serve you in a shop ).
If there is no Common Day of Rest where you live, or if you prefer not to use the Roman ( Georgian / Occult ) calendar to guide your time, you can use nature's Moon Quarters as your marker of rest days. Moon Quarters occur approximately every seven or eight days. This time gap ( i.e. between moon quarters ) may have been an early marker of the ancient ' week '. The Buddhists still use moon quarters to guide their ' sabbath day '.
The Hebrews first calendar may well have been based on the natural cycle of the moon. The Sabbath may have been marked at every moon quarter. However, during the Babylonian exile ( in the 6th century B.C. ), the Hebrews adopted the Babylonian calendar. The Occult worshiping Babylonians arranged their week to honour each of the key heavenly bodies ( the Sun, Moon and the five known planets ). Following the Babylonian exile, the Hebrews celebrated the Sabbath on New Moon Day, and then days 7, 14, 21 & 28 from New Moon Day ( as per the Babylonian calendar ). The Hebrews also adopted some Babylonian names for their months, such as Tammuz - which became the name of the forth month of the Hebrew calendar. Tammuz is of course the son of God Nimrod - the Sun God - the Father god in the Babylonian ' Trinity '.
So important to the Hebrews, was the idea of a week of seven days ( inspired by the week long cycle of the moon's quarters ), that the authors of the Hebrew bible, crafted the creation story of the world, to ' fit ' a week of seven days : God created all that exists in the first six days, and on the seventh day, ' he ' rested. In time, the seventh day became known as . . . Sabbath Day.
The Romans used a solar calendar. Their months did not sync with moon cycles. Aquarians accept the current Roman calendar ( the Gregorian calendar ) as a secular calendar only. It is not used to mark any ' holy days '.
The last act of the Judean Sanhedrin in the second century, was to align the Hebrew calendar with the Roman ( Julian ) calendar. The Hebrew Sabbath now occurred on the 7th day of the Roman week ( which was Saturn Day ). Thus, neither the Ju'ish month, nor the Ju-ish Sabbath, have any correlation with ' nature's time ', and neither the Saturday nor the Sunday are any more holy than any other day of the week !
Today, Aquarians who wish to follow nature's week, moon and sun cycles, can download tracker ' Apps ' or visit astronomy websites which show moon quarters and Sun-ths ( the time a sun passes through each constellation / " heavenly host " ).
When is the Aquarian New Years Day ? Why is this day relevant to Aquarians ?
The pre-Babylonian Hebrew calendar was governed by the movement of the moon, but was synchronised with the solar year, by declaring that the nearest new moon to the spring equinox ( northern vernal equinox ), would mark a new year.
The annual Vernal Equinox is also used to identify which Great Age we are in. The position of the Sun ( i.e. in which constellation ) on the day of the equinox, confirms the Age. Presently, the Sun, on the day of the vernal equinox ( which occurs around the 21st March ), is seen in the constellation of Pisces. Thus, we are in the Age of Pisces. However, the Sun is right at the edge of the Pisces constellation on Equinox Day, and as the Constellation of Aquarius overlaps Pisces, we declare that the Age of Aquarius is . . . dawning !
We therefore suggest, a good day to celebrate the new year is . . . the Spring Equinox ; a day that symbolises new life and a new seasonal cycle, as well as confirms which Great Age we are in ! In 2020, the Spring Equinox in Jerusalem occurred on the 20th of March. We do not mandate it as a ' Holy Day ' or a ' Sacred Day '. It is simply a beautiful day to rest and reflect on your spirituality, and celebrate your blessings with loved ones ( and remember those loved ones who are no longer with you ).
Presently, the Sun is in the Pisces constellation between the 11th of March and the 18th of April each year. Christian Holy Week generally occurs during the ' Sun-th of Pisces ' ( the time the Sun is in Pisces - akin to a ' ' solar month ' ). For Aquarians, the Piscine Age ( Christian ) Holy Week recalls the end of the Age of Aries AND the birth of the Age of Pisces. Also during the Sun-th of Pisces, the Northern Spring Equinox takes place ( on approximately the 20th of March ). Spring Equinox is seen as a time of new life and rebirth. Christ too is symbolically reborn during Holy Week - no longer the Lamb of God, but now sanctified as the First Pisces Man ( Fish Man / Fisher King ) !
Aquarian Spirituality is a modern spirituality, based on ancient wisdom that has stood the test of time. The Aquarian life-path provides us with a modern way to be spiritual, and live a good life in today's world. The coming Arch Angel ( the Micha-El ) - the Messenger and Cardinal of the Age of Aquarius - may well share with us, new spiritual insights and new ' heavenly ' wisdom.
We look forward to this ' Prince of Peace ' and ' Mighty Counselor ' ( Isaiah 9 : 6 ). In the mean time, we present our Aquarian life path to help the whole world prepare for the new Age ; in order that it may truly be, an Age of Love, freedom and . . . beauty.

The Beauty of the world : Zen gardens & music
Zen beauty
Zen is a modern-day Western and agnostic interpretation of the ancient Japanese spiritual tradition called ZaZen.
ZaZen combines elements of Buddha's teachings, Eastern spiritualism ( including ancestor worship inherited from other Japanese indigenous religions such as Shinto ), temple, aesthetic and meditative practices ( including the use of koan - philosophical riddles - as a basis for contemplation ). This is the form most commonly practiced in Japan.
In the West, Zen focuses on the meditative and aesthetic living aspects of ZaZen ( such as stylised architecture, garden design, art, clothing, food and music ), along with some interpretation of core Buddha philosophies. Eastern spiritualist elements are rarely addressed in Western Zen classes.
Zen's focus on nature's beauty and simple living, is a major inspiration here at Aquarian Spirituality. Whilst Aquarian Spirituality's roots lie firmly in Western spiritual traditions, Zen becomes a key influence on our teachings on beauty ( the third pillar ). Zen's appreciation of simple living, simple but pleasing aesthetics, and most importantly, a quiet appreciation of nature's beauty, continues to inspire our spiritual path.
Zen, whilst practiced in the West for many decades, remains a minor movement in the West, due to it's association with Buddhism and the many superstitions that Eastern Buddhism teaches ( including ancestor worship ). Aquarian Spirituality offers many aspects of Western Zen, without any of the supernatural elements of Buddhism ( which Prince Siddhartha Gautama would have firmly rejected himself, in his attempts to move away from the complex polytheism and superstitions of his native Hinduism ).
Buddhism as practiced today, would have been unfamiliar to Prince Siddhartha. Buddha did not create a new religion, but he sought to forge an agnostic noble life-path, free from the superstitions and cultic practices that had become the core of most Hindu practices. Emperor Ashoka, who reigned some 400 years after Buddha walked the earth, transformed the authentic spiritual path of the Buddha, by combining Siddhartha Gautama's agnostic teachings with superstitious Bön-ism ( which included ancestor worship traditions ), and monastic elements, to create the religion we know today as Buddhism. Today, Western ( agnostic ) Zen more closely resembles Buddha's original spirituality, than any Eastern religious version of Buddhism.

Dance as meditation
To paraphrase author Amelia Atwater Rhodes :
" In a society that honours love, freedom and beauty, dance is sacred. It is a prayer for the future, a remembrance of the past, and a joyful exclamation of thanks for the present ".
Amelia writes fantasy novels. In one series, a serpent species - the Serpiente - are the enemies of civilisation. A familiar theme ! atwaterrhodes.com/
We agree with Ms Atwater Rhodes that " dance is sacred ". We encourage dancing as a meditation by movement !

A Jerusalem coin uncovered recently, dated to around the Second Temple and Bar Kochba revolt periods. The artifact found in Hirbet J’bait was minted around 67 AD ( the time of the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans ). The coin shows a palm branch surrounded by a wreath and the inscription ' LeHerut Yerushalayim ' ( meaning Freedom to Jerusalem ! ) and inspires one of the symbols of freedom used on this website. : the Green Palm - a Tree of life !
